Nope... same simulators. The concept footage shows that they are being repainted orange. During SWW, they had a display that shows what special merchandise they are going to sell at Celebration V, which includes a ST 2.0 Orange speeder! Same as the previous toy, but with the new paint scheme, so I have to have one...
Raven, you coming down for CV? We are planning on going all four days...! _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!

I hadn't been planning on going to CV since I've got Dragon*Con three weeks after. But, after hearing about the George Lucas/Jon Stewart interview, I think I've finally convinced my hubby to take me. We're trying to figure out if we want to burn Marriott points, stay at Port Orleans with their CV rates, or bring the RV and stay at Fort Wilderness. Decisions, decisions...
I will let you know when we decide for sure whether we're going. Would love to get together. However, you may have to avoid the drool. I mean....a whole con just for Star Wars??? Mercs and Stormtroopers galore!
Will you two be doing the Last Tour to Endor event, too? _________________ Beth's Blog

Nah, we are skipping that one, since we are passholders and ride it all the time. We would love to hang out with two, just let us know! _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!

Okay, Gurus, Ed and I bought our tickets for SWCV!!!!! I don't think we'll do all four days - probably just Friday and Saturday, and maybe half of Sunday, but we will be there! I am SO EXCITED! _________________ Beth's Blog

Sweet... we will be attending all four days... Sunday only runs until like 4PM. And great news, they finally announced the Lucas Interview by John Stuart... Saturday at 11:00am! If you can get into the main room to see it live, they are streaming it to 3/4 other viewing rooms at the convention!
We will need to swap numbers and meet up... Friday! _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!

As everyone probably knows, Star Tours (on both coasts) has finally closed and construction has begun...
Before jumping into the new and exciting, let's take a few moments and remember the original version, here are several blogs and articles about the closing event for the attraction:
And finally some confirmation on the "multiple destinations:
The new ride will feature 54 different experiences, meaning visitors are unlikely to ever see the same thing when they get on the ride, said George Kalogridis, the Disneyland Resort president.
I'm glad they are updating the attraction, but not because it's old. It's still a fun adventure. We ride "every so often" because of what it is. but it's no longer on the MUST DO list. I still love the ride, think it's a great implementation of the experience, and find it fun. But I'm more glad that they are making multiple destinations and giving the attraction an upgrade (I just hope they get a new pilot, the one we always get, ALWAYS has issues! ). I hope they don't alter the queue line too much. That's one of it's best features. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

54 different experiences (a combination of scenes, I'm guessing? like being thrown into a randomizer?) will definitely make the attraction more appealing when I go to the Studios. They should hand out checklists! Now if only they incorporated button voting. Majority rules...

The official park blog has a really cool post showing some of the filming going on for the new movie... the photo shoot in question includes Anthony Daniels in his C-3PO costume!
