This is a picture of me watching the full and half marathons this weekend. Cold doesn't begin to describe this weekend
On Saturday, the day of the 1/2 marathon, the poor runners were subjected to snow sleet and rain. The runners wait for the race to start for about 1 1/2 hours - OUTSIDE - before the race starts. At 6:30 am (about an hour after the race started) it was 29 degrees - 20 degrees wind chill.
Sunday was clear and sunny, but windy and colder than Saturday.
There were many runners who could never get warmed up - heard reports of many folks being treated in the medical tents and more being "swept up" by Disney Transportation services because they couldn't continue.
For the vast majority of runners who did finish, CONGRATULATIONS!!! It was a race that demanded every ounce of strength they had.
