ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy is under investigation, accused of toying with his taser along with two Walt Disney World security guards at Epcot.
The sheriff's office is calling the incident an internal review after an 18 year veteran let someone else use his taser to tase someone else. Deputy Eric Jeros and two Disney security guards were apparently at Epcot Center in an office. The three of them were talking and one of them mentioned the taser. The deputy handed the taser over to one of the security guards to tase the other guard. Now the sheriff’s office wants to know why. “The non lethal weapon that we provide to our deputies is something that is strictly for their use. We provide the training that is necessary and that is not something that is to be traded or provided to anyone else during a non tactical situation,” Captain Angelo Nieves from the Orange County Sheriff’s Offfice.
The sheriff’s office say Jeros is a good deputy with 18 years of service and he is still working while the department investigates.
Disney issued the following statement regarding the incident:
"We are conducting an internal review of the incident. The castmember has been put on leave pending the outcome of the investigation."

As I commented in the other thread...

None of the folks in this (if true) seem to have shown much wisdom. And the article does not identify if the Disney cast member placed on leave was the tesered or tasee.

Tasey McShockalot has nothing on this guy though:

Stewart, a bellman at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort and an aspiring hairdresser, is held without bail on a first-degree murder charge.

Does not look good for these kids...

"I hate that it happened. I hate that it took an innocent person's life. Over stupidity. Over an argument for no reason," Justin Stewart, 18,

"It" did not take an innocent person's life. "I" is the pronoun that should have been used. Obviously he never learned to take accountability/responcibility for his actions... (which is of course no longer in the vogue...) It sounds like it may actually have been inadvertant, but if you are the driver, you are accountable for the actions of the vehicle.

It goes on to state: 'If things get worse, I'll turn myself in.' ...

Did anyone think it was ever going to get better? Is that the way the laws work in Florida? You only have to turn yourself in if the crime gets worse? Otherwise you are perfectly fine ignoring them?

It goes on to talk about trying to convince 1 person not to talk... So that sure makes it look like they never intended to turn self in... (And the Gonzales they were trying to convince I did not note as having been arrested... so did she actually report it...???)

Then "Stewart, Vargas, and Daniels hung out together until Wednesday afternoon, talking with friends and wondering what to do next"

Now I am not agreeing they should have not stayed on the scene or turned self in... but ... Is this really a case for the more the merrier?

How they expect to escape culpability after first pursuing her in a car, and then committing attempted assault by throwing things at her car is going to be a bit of a challenge.

Abrams does not seem on solid ground here either... Her son claims he spoke to her about it, and she claims she did not know until the arrest. If he is telling the truth, she would seem to have a lot of legal exposure here.

“If things get worse…”

Did you not already hear that you KILLED a woman?! Vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, tampering with a witness, conspiracy… Uh, wake up, kiddo. Things aren’t going to get better!

sounds like they were also talking about tampering with evidence of a capital crime.
