For the longest time, the Yeti from DAK's Expedition Everest has been operating in "B Mode". If you were not aware of it, the Yeti has two operating modes A and B modes. A Mode is when the Yeti is fully animated and moving (swipes at the ride vehicle and moves). B Mode is when the Yeti has broken down, does not move, and is "animated" using strobe lights and fans to blow around his fur. The Yeti has been in B Mode for a long time now and the complaints have been piling up. Apparently A Mode puts too much stress on the AA and causes it to break down a lot.
According to recent reports, Disney has reprogrammed the AA with a new A Mode. The reports are that the new mode has him moving again, although the movements are slightly different from the original A Mode and no where near as "large" or taxing on the system.
Sounds interesting, I like the fact that they have been working on the problem and see to have a solution for the problem (as opposed to just using the silly strobe and fans)... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!
When this originally happened, I read that there was a structural problem with the foundation the yeti is on and not with the yeti itself. I remember reading about cracks in the structure. The report above states, "less force is applied to the structure". I don't think the AA was breaking down.
But regardless, I'm glad it's back up. _________________ [
