Character name isn't ringing any bells. David Tomlinson, maybe? |

Not David Tomlinson, a bit younger but he does have dark hair too. |

Nope. Skinnier & much shorter hair. Movie was released in the 60s. |

Dean Jones? Having "That Darn Cat" as a guess in another game helped here! |

What animated title character has Disney owned the rights to since 1941, even though it was nearly fifty years later before a movie was made? |

Title character is female, with animal friends. That ought to narrow it down (ha)! |

Is it the Little Mermaid? That's an old story, no idea about the rights but the movie came out in 80s/90s? |

The Little Mermaid is the answer! The intention was to make that movie in the 40's, but WW2 threw a monkey wrench in those plans. Would have been a much different movie if they'd made it then! |

Would have been an even happier ending!
Growing up we had the really old/potentially original storylines of all the fairy tales. Imagine my surprise in kindergarten when the woodsman didn't split open the wolf to reveal grandma inside (she was perfectly fine too)
Which character's real name is Eugene Fitzherbert? |
