According to this post over at StitchKingdom, Disney has announced that they will be adding Toy Story 3 characters to the current Toy Story Mania games. This is the reason why they went with this type of attraction, so they can do quick and easy updates... There have also been a lot of rumors about a holiday overlay coming this Christmas... _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best!
‘Toy Story 3′ characters set to be integrated into Toy Story Mania, other Hollywood Studios spots
The onslaught of Toy Story 3 characters at Disney World is just around around the corner. The film debuts June 18, but we’ll see folks from the animated feature in May, particularly at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Posters for the new game will be at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's California Adventure.
For instance, there will be a new game within the Toy Story Mania attraction called “Rex and Trixie’s Dino Darts.” Riders will shoot (virtual) darts at balloons in a dino-setting with volcanoes and such. Trixie is a blue triceratops, one of the toy characters in the new film.
“Dino Darts” subs out for Toy Story Mania’s “Bo Peep’s Baaa-loon Pop,” which also involved darts. (I’m a little bummed to lose Bo’s game as it was one I felt I had the most control of. Why, oh, why, can’t Buzz Lightyear’s Flying Tossers fly away?)
Other TSM changes include that the “Hamm & Eggs” game will now be hosted by Hamm and Buttercup — a toy unicorn — and the prize scene will have Trixie, Buttercup, Dolly (a doll, duh) and Mr. Pricklepants (a hedgehog) along with classic Toy Story cowcharacters Woody and Jessie.
The new game will be inserted in late May here and at Disney’s California Adventure, Disney says. An earlier addition will be the walk-around character of Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear, who’s the boss at a daycare in Toy Story 3. Watch out for Bear at meet-and-greets and during Block Party Bash around May 9.
Great to see quick additions like this rather than 1 year or so after. i wonder how long the "refurb" will have it down?
Hopefully it will only be a few days! Load the new software and have a few test runs to make sure everything syncs... I can't wait! ...Except for the line. ...For the FastPass...

It should be noted that this change will also be coming to Paradise Pier...I really wish there were dates included in the blog since I'm really trying to finagle a trip before summer gets into full swing!
