We were in our room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge when the news came on. I thought I was watch'n one of the info chanels about the Monorail, when I realized something had happened. Just glad I went to bed early that night.
Unfortunately, it does break down from time to time, but the problem here is that the Reedy Creek rescue unit had purchased a new "scissors lift" or whatever it's called and when they bought it, they didn't concider that it wouldn' rise high enough in some of the areas of the monorail. That's why they were stuck there so long, otherwise, they would have been gotten down in 30 minutes or less. I have read that they corrected that problem the next day.
