Hello Everyone!,
With all of the well wishes as we near the end of February. the e-mails and forum posts regarding UAB have been incredible and many of them have been quite emotional for us.
In response to your overwhelming responses, please join the UAB Staff as they broadcast a special announcement dedicated to YOU the UAB community on Wednesday February 25, 2009 starting at 1:00PM EST - 10:00 PST.

Hi Beth,
I really don't want to promise anything that we can't deliver. Since it would be a HUGE undertaking to answer each comment/e-mail post that we've received personally, we wanted to do a more "public" thank you and respond to the community as a whole.
I think a chat session tomorrow would be good at 10am/1pm. I think I can spare a little time tomorrow. to chat and we can go over plans (last song, etc) . I think it's GREAT that you the community have taken UAB's retirement on as your own project...going as far as to pick the final song and inquire about the final broadcast day. That really means a lot to us.
So...in closing...please join us in chat where we can building a final farewell together.

I think I speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I know you admins know how much this site means to all of us, and I am so happy to know UAB is going to be around for many more great big beautiful tomorrows.
tE, nicely played - you had me feeling so sorry for myself up until the last minute of the announcement. 
So, I guess the next question is... what can the rest of us do to keep an announcement like this from ever being needed again?

 I am literally crying tears of joy!!! What can we the listeners do to help out? I just got my tax refund... how much do you need? I'm so happy this is the best news I've had all year... this place is a part of me, it's so nice to be a part of this UAB family and I'm so thrilled about the decision. Please don't hesitate to let us know what we can do! I will do anything to keep this going and know it obviously won't be easy but we can do it if we all pitch in!  |
