Ok, those of you who ran this past weekend in the WDW Race weekend, how did you all do?

Hi Daveypoo.

It was a fun Marathon weekend.

I got to see dlears run in the Disney Family 5K on Friday with her daughter and
figmentathm's son. Dlears seemed pleased with her run and time but I don't know
what her time was.

On Saturday I ran the Donald Duck sponsered Half harathon in a good time
of 2:08:06. Weather was perfect for running and had a great time running in the
first stage of the Goofy Challenge.

On Sunday I also ran again in the Mickey Mouse sponsered Full Marathon and is
also the second half of the Marathon weekend's Goofy challenge.

I had a right leg injury that I must have aggravated on saturday that was
bothering me from about mile three in the Marathon.
I did manage to run the Marathon in 5:30:13.

My Goofy Challenge total time was 7:38:19 that put me right about the
middlle of all of the 4000 Goofy Challenge finishers.

Wasn't the most relaxing Disney vacation I have very had but very pleased to
have finished what is the most difficult running challenge I have ever attempted.

I'll get some pics out as soon as I can remember where I packed my camera.

CONGRATULATIONS JOHN! I'm glad to hear you finished the challenge safely (and we still say you should have waited another year!). Take a look at your NEW title, you deserve it.

Now, what are the chances that you can get Figment to join you next year?!?!?!? Smile

I tried to get Frank to join me this year but he opted out to run just the Marathon.
But now that he has seen the Goofy Challenge medal around my neck maybe
he will be temped to become as Goofy as me. Wink

Thanks for the tital upgrade. Very Happy It wasn't easy but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Very Happy

What! There was a marathon at Disney!

John did a great job and for a while will be the "only" Goofy Challenger on UAB. I have no intention of subjecting myself to that. Sure, the Goofy medal looked good on him. But I do not envy jewelry. I didn't even wear my own medal.

I ran a decent race this year. The cooler temps helped out. DLears is eyeing the 1/2 marathon next year as is my youngest son. My oldest and Donna's son ran the half.......after drinking until 11:00 the night before. Youth.

I know I bailed out on John by not registering for the Goofy, but I did buy the first pint. And John will do pretty much anything somebody tells him to do if there is beer involved.

I do have some video of John crossing the finish line, but only from the back.

Just wait until you see my tiara medal from the Princess 1/2 marathon in March!! Then I'll bet you'll envy the bling!!

BTW, disney really missed out - the March race should be a Pirate and Princess event Wink

Hey Frank, I looked up your time from this year, last year and the year before. You did a lot better than last year and was on par for 2007. Nice job.

Jack A also believes John to be nuts doing both, but you should go for it...just for the experience. Come on, it's just an additional 13.1 miles, on a completely different day. How tough can that be?!?!

Congratulations to all the runners!

Except for a watch and my RoadID, I have no use of jewelry. I don't even wear a wedding band. I even gave the Marathon shirt away. I have too much stuff. I only want functional things. I was, however, given a very nice personalized Figment pin by a special young lady, and I did wear it in the park.

Besides, I wouldn't look good as a princess. Tinkerbell, maybe.
