|
|
I was recently watching the National Treasure (NT) Movie and it made me wonder if there were more potential for rides and shows off National Treasure than off on Indiana Jones.
I would think there could some good potential for a National Treasure attraction, and it could theme into Adventureland, Liberty Square, Frontierland or DHS.
Obviously if they are trying to cement closer ties to Lucas, this would not be a good thing, but what do you think? Does NT have park attraction potential? |

Sure, it totally could.
Would I want it...hmmm...wouldn't be my choice.
I'd really, really like to see an attracttion without a whole bunch of movie characters in it. Yes, I know the original dark rides are movie based. But then there is Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, Mine Train thru Natures Wonderland, Matterhorn, Animal Kingdom....all SO CREATIVE and wonderful and UNIQUE.

Dicey. First, there would have to be a third National Treasure movie to establish any continued awareness. Secondly, there'd really have to be elements that can make the attraction last beyond its movie tethers.
There'd be a lot to consider and by then, there'd probably be another movie from Disney with more potential. Don't know what it would be, but that's how it would probably play out. |

OK...question:
Where would the National treasure attraction be placed...and why...?
Would it be a ride?....a walk through....a 3-D movie....? |

A walk-through would quickly lose its appeal. At least one not in a treehouse. There's not much from the films, I think, that could be grabbed to create a walk-through experience.
There's not really one specific land that a National Treasure attraction would fit squarely into, though I did think of Liberty Square, but where's the room nowadays?
A ride, maybe. But it would take many strokes of genius to make it work.
onecutemoose is right though in attractions not based on movies being continually appealing. Though the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter scared the crap out of me the rare times I went for it, even in 8th grade, it was very well done with an expansive storyline that even provided details of the workings of X-S Tech. Didn't need to be adapted from a movie. The Imagineers had it all right there.
To me, the "National Treasure" films work best only as movies. |

So...possibly a 3-D movie experience...maybe in the American area of EPCOT? |

That could definitely work. If they want to update the American pavilion, that would be a way to do it. |

there is also the option of doing it in DHS which admittedly has more space. I am not sure on a walkthrough but a movie or dark ride/simulator would have potential |

My only concern with DHS is the INdy conflict. It might be 2 attractions too similar...what do you think? |

Hardly. Not with the modern slant "National Treasure" has. That'll be to its benefit. |

Seems to me that, with so many places National Treasure could be injected into the parks, there's a big risk of over National-Treasurizing (new word). You know, kind of like how Stitch seemed to assimilate almost everything in it's path.
