Yes! At the time the Rescuers sequel was approved, a Rescuers tv show was in development. Because of the movie, the show was re-invented, and debuted on the Disney Channel as Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers.

In the 1920s, Disney produced The Alice Comedies which featured a live action girl with an animated animal in an animated world.

It was the 1st time Disney had a named animal character. What was the name or type of animal? And, nope, it wasn't a mouse.
