Hi everyone! I am new here and I LOVE UAB. I log on as soon as I get to work and listen all day, it really makes the day fly by!. Which brings me to my question. Are there a limited number of people who can listen at a time? Am I preventing someone else from listening? I don't want to be rude by logging in all day. I am also trying to limit my requests to just a few a day.
Thanks so much!

It's so great to hear how much you are loving the broadcast. As it has been said many times, it's a labor of love!
There is a limit as to how many people can listen at any given time, but don't feel as though you need to concern yourself with that. We've never hit the limit yet.
What we would ask is that if you are going to be away from your desk and not really listening to the broadcast, shut off the broadcast and start it up again when you return.
Keep on listening! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

I also believe there is a 2 or 3 hour time limit that's in place where the broadcast will automatically free up your slot to let someone else listen...Since it doesnt appear that they've ever filled up (There's a LOT of slots), if you ever get your broadcast dropped just click play again to continue listening.

I have another question.... What are some of the taglines for UAB? I know I've heard (I believe Disneydave if i'm correct) say something like listen to the land, tune into the world on the broadcast but I was just wondering what the full line is and if there are any others....I was thinking of creating one of those sign smilies with one of those taglines on it, and was just wondrerin' thanks!~ _________________ MoonyPadfoot&Prongs...

Doesn't the broadcast automatically limit how often requests can be made? Isn't there a daily limit too? Then one wouldn't have to worry about that...it's automatically regulated!

Actually, DisneyDave has no life outside of UAB and he just sit's at home, watching the requests and stopping people who make too many, while eating hot pockets. It's a pathetic life, but he likes it!
Seriously, if you click on the "Broadcast Schedule" on the left, it will tell you what the request schedule is for any given point in the day.
(but DisneyDave is pathetic and eats hot pockets) _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

You're lucky I was cooking Hot Pokets when you wrote that!!!!
Just for that.... you get no requests!
Unless you request more Hot Pockets _________________ Dave.... |
