Emergency Shutdown of the Broadcast due to errors...
Posted by daveypoo
on Monday, April 01 @ 15:48:59 PDT
May 16, 2013 ** UPDATE**
The drive recovery is doing well. An old backup was found and if the Disney Gods are in our favor, we’ll have tracks up and running this weekend. This will give us “something” back while theEpiphany works on restoration of the remaining tracks.
We’ll also be looking in to obtaining a new broadcast server since the one we have is about 9 years old. Although we do have a lot of classic Disney music, it’s not a good idea to run that on a classic computer. :-) We’ll also be looking into a complete backup setup to help prevent this from happening again.
Again, we thank you for all your patience and support. It’s because of you, our membership, that we are here and are working to bring your beloved broadcast back to you. THANK YOU!
Your UAB Admins

Due to the issues we've been experiencing with tracks and the request queue, we're performing an emergency maintenance as of now (6:45PM EDT, 3:45PM PDT) on 4/1/13.
No, this is not a joke, and we're working to make sure we're ok and not having a more serious issue.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Broadcast Service Intruption on 09/28/2010
Posted by daveypoo
on Sunday, September 26 @ 10:06:29 PDT
On Tuesday, September 28, 2010, the UAB Broadcast server will be down for an extended period of time. Please plan accordingly.
Ok, so that was a little too formal. Let me try again…
On Tuesday, there will be no broadcast for most of the day. Sorry.
Alright, that was a little on the rude side, let’s see if I can do a little better…
Hey UAB Members. We hate to bring news like this, but on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, the broadcast server will be down for a while so it can be moved to a new and more fun-filled location. We’ll be back, that is for sure, and the expected down time is about 5 hours, but things can happen and we’d hate for people to be sitting and waiting and there is no broadcast until a bit later. So, in the mean time, I think we can ask Jaho to crank up the beatbox for the day and see where that takes us! We’ll be back as soon as possible and we really do apologize for the inconvenience. Oh, and this is ONLY the broadcast server. The site and forums will still be available all day.
Much better. Thanks for reading!

on Tuesday, November 11 @ 09:54:40 PST
We apologize for the occasional signal interruptions. This unfortunately is out of our control. The issues seem to be stemming from the service provider.
Also be aware that on Thursday, Nov 13th the Broadcast will be down from 9am to approx 3pm (EST). This is due to provider maintenance. Thank you for your patience...

A message from the MCP
Posted by DaveyPoo
on Saturday, April 29 @ 06:49:40 PDT
We’re sure you’ve heard (providing you listen to the broadcast) that the MCP will be performing a UAB Synthesis which will be completed on May 8th, 2006. Although The MCP hasn’t given us a lot of information about this program expansion, we do know that it will be a great enhancement and that we “users” will be very pleased with the outcome.
Unfortunately, in order to perform this modification, the site and broadcast will be unavailable on May 6th and 7th. We thank you for your understanding and patience, but the MCP isn’t giving us much choice…and we’re also pretty confident that Tron will help keep an eye on things while we’re away.
In addition to the synthesis, we’ve also been informed that all the track ranking and voting that has happened over the past number of weeks will be reset, but only so the MCP can improve the rank scoring and give the users some added benefit. Again, we’re not sure what this means, but it sounds pretty exciting.
So stay tuned and be sure to check in first thing on May 8th.
End of line.

Well the UAB Flight Maintenance crew has finished de-icing the wings, re-fueling and of course... re-stocking those fabulous UAB peanuts we all love so much.
Along with all that, we installed some new software in our constant trek to bring you the best possible experience!
We will be performing periodic maintenance throughout the week, to ensure you a safe and enjoyable flight.
We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to flying, and we are glad that you choose UAB... Where you can listen to the land... and tune in the world!
