Sunny and smokey in SW Colorado - 2 large fires with 50 miles still not totally contained and won't be out til a big rain or snow comes ... also another large that is contained but still burning ... I swear my corner of the world is all on fire ... Sad

Went to the county fair this weekend and the weather couldn't have been more lovely. Humidity was low, temps in the low 80s, and occasionally we'd get this glorious wind that just seemed to cool things down further. If you squint just the right way you can almost feel autumn coming.

Rain around my area list night to help cool the inferno --- today not quite as smokey and yes there is that hint of "Fall is coming" in the air ...

We've been warned all week that the storms are coming - at the moment, you can see them looming in the distance. This morning was a little "muggy" - moisture in the air, but cool enough that it wasn't uncomfortable. It sounds like my commute tonight will be fraught with weather, though.

The storms have moved out and took any feeling of coming autumn - the weekend was flippin hot. We ran errands today and every time we got out of the car was just miserable. Looking forward to the cooler weather coming soon.

High presure moved east allowing some monsoon moisture to return to our corner of the world, blew the smoke back west and north and brought some cooling showers .... hoping for more overnight and into tomorrow ... this dry parched land needs a good drink ...

After last weekend, we dropped back down into the 80s - this is definitely the strangest August I've had since we moved to TN (over a decade). It's been gloriously 80s, overcast in the mornings, with a slight breeze to keep things cool. I told my daughter - a little salt in the air and we'd be on the California coast.

Beautiful day here in SW Colorado --- headed up into the mountains to see affects of our recent fire ... very sad but know that fire is good for lots of new growth and habitat ... our mountains are sooooo dry praying for a wet fall and tons of snow this winter ...

We're in this odd inbetween phase - yesterday and today we're looking at 90s weatherwise, but the trees have started turning color, which is usually a fall thing.

I'm so confused.
