Well, the characters in question are English, but not very similar to Cap't Jack otherwise. More contemporary as well - mid 20th century.

Not Mary Poppins.

This 60s film (so not the remake) does have strong female characters in it, although this quote is 50-50.

Not Bedknobs & Broomsticks, although there was a prank in a bedroom where 2 other characters tried to sweep up the mess.

Not Apple Dumpling Gang. Move was released & set in the 1960s.

Swiss Family Robinson? Know it was released in the 60's but not positive it was set in the 60's.
