Storms finally broke late this PM clear skies now but chance of more rain, snow, sleet, hail thru tom pm - bring it on - glad we don't have tornadoes here in SW Colorado ... thinking of all those affected in mid-west and south ...

Spent the day at the Cajun Festival in Hamilton, TN. It was a bit overcast and humid, but when the wind blew it was wonderful.
The Festival was fantastic, by the way. Crawfish: The tastiest bottom-dweller you can find! |

Here in the 4 Corners area sunny and warmer - glad I am not in the desert SW this week - heat advisories - could get to 114 by Sunday - Oh yea - it's a dry heat - being an Arizona Native don't think you ever get used to that hot...

Ocmsma, I was born in Glendale, AZ and most of my family lives in central and northern Arizona. I grew up in that ol' "Dry Heat". I tell people you don't know agony until you have to walk out of an ice cold grocery store into the Arizona summertime heat. I can remember cringing and that heat would hit like a truck. Ugh.
Now I pine my time in Tennessee where the heat comes with a whole lotta moisture. There's nothing like that "Just stepped out of the shower feel" all. day. long.
Still, it's not as bad further south. Summer is definitely upon us. |

Small world - I grew up in the West Valley and lived the majority of my adulthood in Wickenburg - my husband is a Colorado native and we have a small farm here in SW Colorado where we spend our summers - I don't think you ever get used to that Blast Furnace feeling when you walk out into that 115 degrees - the worst for us was the summer it was 124 in the shade west of Wickenburg and my husband was in full uniform, bullet proof vest and wool pants (he was a Deputy Sheriff) - Enjoying our 80 degree days and 40 degree nights right now ....

Oi - 124 would be bad in any condition; tortuous to weigh him down with all that gear.
You tell your husband to be safe out there! |
